## What Delta Work does

Delta Work helps organisations close the gap between individual AI productivity and 
team-level performance. The core thesis: AI raises the floor for individuals, but teams 
determine the ceiling. Uneven AI adoption creates coordination drag — a force that slows 
teams even as individuals get faster. Organisations mistake individual productivity spikes 
for organisational capability. That's the problem Delta Work solves.

## Key concepts

**Coordination drag** — the organisational cost of uneven AI adoption, expressed as status 
theatre, decision scatter, and context fragmentation.

**OS Progression (−1/0/+1)** — a model for team AI maturity: −1 is separated human/AI 
work, 0 is overlapping, +1 is a unified operating model.

**Hero quadrant** — the state where one person has deep AI adoption and everyone else 
hasn't. This is a risk state, not a goal.

**5-stage team AI fluency** — Shared Memory → Visibility → Collective Sensemaking → 
Decision Clarity → Collective Intelligence.

**Team AI Steward** — a hatted role given to someone with social trust and systems 
thinking, not the team's AI enthusiast.

**Capability transfer as exit condition** — making Delta Work redundant is the explicit 
goal of every engagement.

## Methodology

Three-layer system (Memory, Instructions, Skills). Three engagement phases. Three-tier 
diagnostic matrix. Leader readiness must precede team-level work. Skipping fluency stages 
actively creates problems. Facilitated, team-based engagements are structurally necessary; 
self-paced modules solve the wrong problem.
